  C'est en 1706 que Pierre-le-Grand décida d'ouvrir ce jardin dont le but était d'approvisionner les hôpitaux de la ville en plantes médicinales et permettre aux étudiants en médecine d'apprendre la botanique

In 1706 Peter-the-Great decided to open this garden to supply the hospitals of the city with healing plants and to allow the med students to learn the botany.

et il y a même un petit food court et un coin atelier
